Your IMEI lives in your phone settings - but not all carriers/phones support *#06#. Here's how to find your IMEI number inside your phone:
Apple: "Settings" --> "General" --> "About" then scroll down to find IMEI.
Samsung: "Settings" --> "About Phone" or "About Tablet" then look for IMEI.
